The National Weather Service has confirmed an EF-2 tornado moved through Greenville County in late April 2020.

NWS officials say the tornado reached its peak intensity of 115 miles per hour, and had a width of close to 400 yards after it crossed Rutherford Road. The NWS says the storm ended in Taylors, after being on the ground for 5.54 miles.

High winds toppled trees and left miles of damage across the Upstate as the storm passed through. The Botany Woods neighborhood, a community flush with aged oak trees, appeared to be ground zero, where as many as 5,000 people were without power in the concentrated area, but few outages or significant damage occurred nearby.
